Fifth Third Bank is another successfully completed project in the historic One Woodward Building in Detroit.
Over the past three years, we have installed our OpenLight motorized shades on multiple floors for various tenants; each one having their own unique needs. The most recent was Fifth Third Bank who occupy the uppermost 25th and 26th floors. The motorized shades utilize Somfy smart motors with SDN, Somfy Digital Network, and a low voltage bus network system. We submitted, as we do for all motorized projects, a site specific electrical drawing. Below are the returned electrical drawings from the submittal. Our site specific drawings allow the architect to quickly and accurately provide detailed direction and keep us all reading from the same page.
The requirements for the Fifth Third project has the SDN connected to the BacNet building management system, via Somfy’s BacNet module. The facilities person can then see and control any motorized shade throughout the building from one central location individually, or in groups.
This project also specified integration into a Crestron system, which allows shades in a given area to be controlled in conjunction with the A/V equipment. This allows presenters to structure scenes. A push of one button controls lights, sound, projection screen, and video.
Our OpenLight shades, combined with Somfy’s technology, make great partners in providing flexibility and quiet, problem-free light control for this high profile landmark!
